Safety shoes according to EN ISO 20345 have toe caps whose protective strength is tested against mechanical forces with a test energy of 200 joules and a compressive force of 15 kN.
Safety shoes according to EN ISO 20346 have toe caps whose protective strength is tested against mechanical forces with a test energy of 100 joules and a compressive force of 10 kN.
Professional shoes according to EN ISO 20347 are suitable for areas of work where the risk of injury is low; these shoes do not have toe cap protection.
