An overview of Euro Standards

Safety shoes according to EN ISO 20345 have toe caps whose protective strength is tested against mechanical forces with a test energy of 200 joules and a compressive force of 15 kN.

Safety shoes according to EN ISO 20346 have toe caps whose protective strength is tested against mechanical forces with a test energy of 100 joules and a compressive force of 10 kN.

Professional shoes according to EN ISO 20347 are suitable for areas of work where the risk of injury is low; these shoes do not have toe cap protection.


Basic Requirements

Half-shoes or boots made of leather, rubber and other synthetic materials with a toe protection cap made of steel, aluminium or plastic.

Additional Requirements

HI: Heat insulation of the sole complex
CI: Cold insulation of the sole complex
HRO: Behaviour of the walking sole towards contact heat (test temperature 300 °C/60 sec.)
WRU: Water penetration protection and absorption of the shoe upper section
WR: Waterproof characteristic of the shoe
SRC: Tested slip resistance of the entire outsole
